Picosecond vs Nanosecond Q-Switched: Pulse Width and Wavelength
Two specification sections on this site describe Q-switched systems. The picosecond system lists wavelengths of 1064nm, 785nm and 532nm (755nm), a spot size of 2–10mm, a frequency of 1–10Hz, and a power of 3000W. The Q-switched system lists a laser power of 1000W, pulse energy up to 700mj, repetition up to 20 Hz, and a pulse width under 12ns, with a company statement of a shortest pulse width of 6ns.
Pulse width figures describe how short each pulse is; the published figures are under 12ns on one system and a company-stated shortest value of 6ns on the other. Wavelength figures describe which light each system emits. Neither figure by itself proves a treatment outcome, and company descriptions such as no broken skin inflammation and no scarring are company statements, not verified results. Before ordering, confirm the pulse width, wavelength set, and spot size that apply to the configuration you plan to buy, and ask for the certification documents for your market on inquiry.
